2010 SEASON

  Homestead Miami February 13-14
What an awesome track! I love Homestead : )
Maybe its the palm trees, maybe its because it gives me a break from the cold...

I worked closely with Eric Grey from G.M.D Computrack FTL who was a great help in setting up the bike properly for the start of the season.

My first race, AM GTU was a total disaster! I had the worst start of my life! Plus my bike had major vibrating issues that got me thinking thru out the whole race. Finished 8th.
In the AM Middleweight Supersport I had a pretty good start and got to the front of the pack right away. I finished the race in 3rd. With over 35 riders in that class, I'm pretty proud of my 3rd place : )
Last race was AM Middleweight Superbike, not running as fast as usual, I still managed to finish 6th.

  JenningsGP Florida April 3-4

23 hours of driving to go race at Jennings and it was well worth it. I love the ambiance and camaderie of racing outside my regular series. Guys hi-fiving me and giving me the thumbs up on the cool down lap after we fought so hard for 5th place...just pure fun!

I started from the 3rd and 4th row in the 3 races, had pretty good starts and finished 5th in GTU, 8th in amateur Middleweight Supersport and 5th in amateur Middleweight Superbike.

Shannonville Ontario Mai 1-2 Nelson track

First Regional RACE round. Great weather but a sad ending for me. I was running a solid 3rd place in AM600 when my motor blew on the 4th lap :'(
My boyfriend was nice enough to lend me his bike for the womens race. Being very careful to preserve his equipment, I finished a boring 2nd. I had to skip the Superbike race.
Only 8 days to try to fix it up.
On a more positive note, my son won the CBR125 race and broke the lap record. He now has all 4 lap records on all 4 configurations in Shannonville and my boyfriend won the AM600 race :)

Shannonville Ontario Mai 14-16 Long track
Second Regional RACE round and first Women's Cup Challenge.

Wow what a weekend, pinch me someone! A super nice amateur (SV#320) Chris Dopke, offered to lend me his stock motor for a couple of weekends till my motor is ready. So after the traveling Montreal - Toronto - Montreal - Sherbrooke - Montreal - Sherbrooke - Shannonville, I'm very impressed and surprised with the performance of his motor and also my performance of the weekend. Horray for Honda!

Everything started in Saturday's qualifying. After Qualifying second in the WCC with the girls, I qualified 4th in Amateur600 and 3rd in Amateur Superbike amongst 30 guys.

Always trying to go faster, I made a bad decision by changing my suspension just before the Am600 race. I had a great start and was second for 2 turns but my suspension was so bad I couldn't even run my morning session lap times! I finished 8th.

I quickly contacted Eric Gray from GMD computrack down in Florida and switched over my suspensions front and rear. It couldn't be worst than it was! I had an awesome start in the women's race, got the hole shot and stayed there throughout the race. I set the new lap record on the 5th lap and broke the lap record I just set on the 6th lap :)

I was starting 3rd, on the front row again for the Amateur Superbike race. Crazy start again. I was second for a couple of laps till I got passed by the winner of the race. I finished 3rd with 1 second faster than the record I had just set in the Women's race! Pinch me someone!

Mirabel Quebec Mai 27-30 ICAR circuit
First round of the Parts Canada National Series and second round of the Women's Cup Challenge.

Wow what a weekend once again! Second win in a row in the WCC crossing the finish line 6.6 seconds ahead of second place. Beating last years lap record held by myself by 0.5 seconds, I managed to re-beat it in the race by a full 2 seconds. I really gave my all in this race!
Exhausted for the AM600 race, I crossed the finish line 12th while riding much slower than normal.

Once again I have Eric Gray to thank for long distance suspension set up :)

My son had two great races for the double header of the CBR125 Challenge finishing 2nd in both races.

Shannonville Ontario June 16-18 Fabi track
I had a great start to the weekend dropping my times 2.5 seconds from my best ever on that track. That 1.06.8 would of put me 3rd last year in amateur but instead I qualified 9th and 10th in amateur. I did get pole though in the womens.

Sunday I just couldn't get into it. My heart wasn't there at all, I couldn't find my reference points or my braking markers, I couldn't concentrate, couldn't find my rythm or take my times down :(

Finished 9th, 9th and 2nd.

  Calgary Alberta June 23-27
A week before heading to Calgary I learnt that my motor was not going be ready and that the stock motor I had, needed to be returned to its owner as he wants to race too this year lol

I still headed to Calgary for my son's triple header of the CBR125 National series. He did awesome, winning the first race on Saturday, 3rd on Sunday and 7th on Monday on over 30 kids!!

I still can't believe it, I wasn't there to ride but I got offered a PROSTAR ride from Ben Gartner to race in the AM600 only three hours before the race!
Borrowed a helmet from Aubrey Bailey, leathers from Jodi Christie, boots, gloves and back protector from my son and I was off to race with 0 practice!
Finished 17th and pretty happy with my times for my first session on a borrowed bike, not set up on a track I hadn't ridden in two years! Just when I thought I had done everything...

  Mosport Ontario July 8-11

Mosport, the biggest event of the year on the fastest track in Canada.

I've been racing there since 2006 and was never able to lower my times passed the 1.30.5. This weekend my objective was to be in the high 29's. I achieved more than that in the Women's Cup qualifier when in ran a 1.28.8 with my fastest competitor at 1.1 seconds behind.
During the race, I passed my competitor and the end of the back straight on the last lap but she stuffed me in the last corner just before start/finish. I got second place by 0.1 second...That's racing for ya...I'm still maintaining my championship lead by 22 points with two races to go.

It was a double header for the AM600 class, a race on Saturday, the other one on Sunday. We were rained out on Friday so they took the Thursday afternoon times after only two practices! Starting 15th, I pulled out of the Saturday race after 6 laps worried I had motor issues. Finaly it was my clutch slipping make my rpm needle go bizerk, the problem was fixed the next day. I ran a good race, the only thing is that I decided to pick it up after the 7th lap...Finished 15th with a fastest lap of 1.29.1.

My son got two 2nd place finishes on the big track and an 11th place on the go kart track.

We both think the same thing...second sucks... lol  We had a great week after all :)

Thanks to my boyfriend Steve Greene for being an awesome crew chief, to Patrice Goyette for the new motor and help with the suspension and all my sponsors that have been suporting me since the beginning of this crazy adventure we call racing...

Shannonville Ontario July 16-18 Long track

Drama, drama, drama, something I could do without and doesn't have its place on a race track.

I was doing well all weekend, qualified 5th in AM600, 5th in AM Superbike and 2e in the Women's open class.
During the amateur 600, fighting for 5th place, I made a pass on the last lap going into Alan's corner. I had the inside line and contact was made, we both went down. Before I could even get up my competitor was kicking me, no need to say a cat fight broke out in turn 13. While she was busy going on with her mouth, I picked up my bike and ended up finishing 11th.

The bike was fine so I raced in AM Superbike, the times just weren't there though, 2 seconds slower than usual.

The final race of the day, RACE Women's Open, the important one with only two rounds left. I did awesome earning my third lap record this year. A record two years old held by Marie-Jo. I did a 1.49.1, I'm totally stoked, winning the race and beating my own personal time by 1.5 seconds and M-J's old record by 0.7.

The drive home is always better when the weekend ends like that :)
